I'm Elena Jariego, a visual designer specialized in the animation industry. I started working for El Exilio S.L, where I participated as a matte painter in the CosmoCaixa documentary ''Postales de otros mundos''. I then moved into animation, working on ''Sultana's Dream'' as a character designer, ''Black Butterflies'' as a concept artist, ''Norbert'' as a concept artist and matte painter, ''Mümu'' as an art director, and finally on ''Like!'' as a location designer.

Since then, I've become interested in story design as the foundation with which all movies are built. This new path led me to discover matte painting on a deeper level with Igor Staritsin, to be mentored by Mark C. Holmes in Cinematic Design Thinking and by Ramón Hurtado in academic drawing, color and light.

My ultimate Goal is to develop my knowledge to make informed choices to do better illustrations, better design, and in fact, to make effective stories based on a creative and human intention.
